Found this today. I apologize in advance for the some of the language in the clips. But it’s worth noting so that we don’t fall into the trap of writing clichés into our work.
I think new writers make the mistake of using dialogue as a tool to get to the next point in the plot and that’s a mistake.
I read a bit of writing advice once that went like this: Don’t write. Tell stories.
I’m not sure every writer has had this problem, but I have. It has to do with the voice, or perhaps more appropriately, the style with which the story is told.
